Well, "the good guys became Christian and that led them to victory" is basically the theme of a lot of the old historical Arthur sources, so it's not as weird as it would be in a lot of books. I've been doing a lot of Dark Ages history lately and there is a lot of that, as you would expect in an age of kings converting.
