re #4, I use an app called Book Catalogue to organize all my books, including what few comics I have. I like it a lot. It can find things for you if you put in the title or put in the ISBN or scan the barcode, and it also allows you to input things yourself if it can't find the book in question. You can add books to different "bookshelves" and organize by that, which I think would work well for distinguishing what you own vs what you're looking for. I don't know how well it would work for a huge comics collection but it may be worth looking at?
