Yes! YBEB is one of the Bucky stories that did a really good job with that, at least as far as my knowledge goes. And it is really fun to delve into, at least in fiction, isn't it? So much of Bucky in the movie is so much more painful makes so much sense if you assume he has implicit memory, with zero context but ALL the FEELINGS, trying to tell him that he loves Steve more than anything.
