I don't want to give the impression that this movie is all great bioscience and technical scematics - there's a lot of handwavium and technobabble and time given to explosions, and it's mostly hot people in awesome costumes being space-princess-adjacent - but! the handwavium and technobabble don't blatantly spit in the face of known fact! and it doesn't fall back on fluffy mystical stuff even once! Neither of those should be so rare in SF movies. And yet.
