1. I did not default on yuletide! \o/

2. I am leaving Saturday morning for the annual Christmas-trip-with-limited-internet, so I will not be around (and, whoever wrote me the RIDICULOUS number of stories I have waiting for me, I will as usual try to feedback as soon as I can - which in this case may involve stealing my sister's smartphone - but I may not be able to say much until I get home.)

3. For said trip, I need some stuff to read for when I get a fanfic craving! But unfortunately, I have run out of good, unread longfic in my current go-to fandoms, and I'm not really feelin' the teen wolf right now, which is all that Pinboard is giving me. ):

Anybody want to rec me something to take along? It needs to be a) at least 20,000 words, b) easily and freely downloadable, c) good, and d) if not fanfic, then fulfilling the same narrative cravings that fanfic does.

4. dduane is doing the 30 Day OTP fanfic challenge! With Kit and Nita! And has apparently very seriously considered the question of whether it counts as fanfic or not, just because she's doing it for a fic challenge and it may or may not end up canon. And is teasing about threesomes again!

...and she's posting the resulting fic on tumblr. Tumblrrrrr! *shakes fist*

(In the past three days I have lost both my facebook virginity and my tumblr-reblogging virginity. I feel unclean.)

5. Why no I am not ready for Christmas! Not at all.

ETA: Also, given this: Such usage should not be construed as automatically implying romance… at least not the usual kind of romance. Terms like “boyfriend” and “girlfriend” are merely convenient labels, often more convenient for those outside the relationship than those inside it: and the characters involved are aware of this (as will become obvious in Games Wizards Play). I am just.... The title is Games Wizards Play, and it is about "not the usual kind of romance". Someone had better write the porn AU of that, if she doesn't.

I haven't read any Young Wizards books since high school, and yet #4 still made me bounce in my seat with glee. (I should re-read them. The book about Nita's super-special younger sister put me off the series for a bit because adolescent me bounced hard off special younger siblings who were more powerful and better than their older siblings. Probably because I was an older sibling).

I am constantly checking my urge to school people who say dumb shit on tumblr. I mostly succeed, because otherwise I would just spend my entire life concerned with SOMEONE IS WRONG ON THE INTERNET and probably making a lot of people hate me, but yeah. Reblogging is entirely counterintuitive, and it makes it even worse that EVERY TIME someone reblogs a post, OP gets a notif on their dash. CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE?? THE HORROR, THE HORROR.

Dairine does get better later! (High Wizardry is not my favorite, either.) And Kit's older sister becomes awesome in the last couple of books, if that helps. :D
