I suspect I see where the anti-list person was coming from. Some of the panels, like "Handling Problematic Characterizations and Storylines Through A Social Justice Lens", are the sort of thing where you could easily spend hours really chewing through the meta. I can see where someone who was revved up to jump into that would be disappointed that the already short time was further cut by the list-making.
But personally, I like the list making. It tends to define the panel for me better (either because I wasn't sure of the topic going in, or because the participants veered it slightly off course.) And hopefully it limits the number of times people walk out of a panel and suddenly realize that nobody brought up X, Y or Z which merited some focused discussion.
