I don't know that I'd say religion is a kind of kink - religion is bigger than kink, and kink can be bigger than religion - but in a lot of way they're inextricably intertwined, and they do some of the same things, taking people beyond themselves. And in a lot of other ways, too, you can't really completely keep the two separate.

I was thinking of sensory deprivation for the darkness that covered the Earth, actually! But I didn't have space on the Crucifixion card so I took it off the list. It would work for that too though! But there's lots of other ways this could be done.
