I have almost no interest in cryptozoology. (I have a habit of collecting boyfriends who're into it, so I know a swarm of random factoids and names and such, but no interest in building on that.) And my Pagan studies have been strongly focused on staying as far *away* from the Catholic church (and Kabalah) as I could. (Those aren't related except in my fervent desire to avoid them so's to avoid building practices around them.) I'm getting over the aversion--not so worried, these days, that I'll try to arrange "Pagan tree of life" meditations or that I'll insist on some Catholic saint or other being a goddess in disguise.
And a lot of my early internet debates were facing off against a jerk who claimed himself a master of Celtic lore (for a while, he called it "Keltic" and insisted that the "Kelts" were the only real witches), and I absolutely wasn't going to get stuck arguing minutia of Celtic mythology with him. (He still insists the Morrigan was never a war-goddess.) Which meant I was staying away from all things Celtic and historical.
