...we'll just have to agree to disagree there. :) I think Irene was perfectly happy with Godfrey and they made a charming couple, but Holmes was, and always will be, her one-and-only in a way nobody else could be. (Actually I think if I was doing this in detail I'd make Godfrey her moirail, the one who keeps her stable and talks her down, and Holmes her matesprit. Who does the opposite.)
