I have decided that all I am going to think about regarding Cryoburn is that while Dira was in the process of writing this fic, Cryoburn came out, and confirmed that Jole stayed with Aral his whole life and was a pallbearer beside his sons. Bujold gave them a happy ever after.

(If you want more really good Bujold fic, a very high proportion of it is amazing, but the other long-form fic I would rec to anybody, especially if you want to be filled up with joy, is Forward Momentum, a post-Civil Campaign AU in which the author said, "Whenever Bujold gets stuck, she has the worst possible thing happen. I am going to write them a universe where the best possible thing always happens." It is beautiful, and somehow, it manages to keep the narrative tension up just as well as the other way around.)
