I don't like the "burn everything to DVD" solution, though. The idea is that I have it all to hand in one place and I can reorganize it however I want. (Also, that I can seed torrents. And possibly maybe actually vid.)

A solid-state external drive would work, possibly, though I get the impression that large flash drives aren't terribly reliable on the long term either.

I know several people (including me) with external drives that worked for years and years. Is there enough anecdata to say that older ones are more reliable and I should buy used? Hmm. (Perhaps instead of buying an external drive I should just buy a large SATA drive and a new enclosure.)
