So tonight's Dr. Who was mostly unimpressive - yes, Donna rocks, Ten + Donna rocks, yes the aliens were at least satisfactorily alien, and the *song* - but the plot was not exactly surprisingy or thoughtful or hang-together-y, was it?

But then, I've been reading lots of Doctor/Master today (there may be a recs list coming) and I was watching the Doctor be all do-goody and confident and sparkly, and thinking, okay, maybe I'm just unimpressed because I've got Doctor/Master fanon stuck in my head - all that lonely god and pining stuff - and I need to re-appreciate Ten for what he *actually* is, and not for what slashfic makes of him -
