I am somewhat annoyed right now.
I went upstairs because I wanted to get a book (what book isn't really material, although in fact it was one of the best fantasy novels ever written--"The Riddle-Master of Hed,"-- which I wanted to find now because Morgon and Raederle have always reminded me of grown-up Harry and Ginny, even moreso after HBP, and I just wanted to look for a quotation).
Now, if you may recall, a year or two ago my sister and I went through all our fantasy and sci-fi novels, put them in order by author so we could actually find them, and split the collection between our two rooms. It has been very nice; they've gotten slightly out of order over time, but one can still find any given book with reasonable ease, although one may have to move a few other books out of the way first.
Make that one *could* still find. The ones in my room are still that way. The ones in my sister's room *were*-- up until about two months ago, when she came home. Now they're completely out of order, some of her textbooks are mixed in, half of them are just stuffed haphazardly in boxes, and I literally had to spend ten minutes tearing apart her room, including rolling up the carpet, and then use a *prybar*, just to get at the one I wanted.
*tears out hair*
I realise she was never quite as enthusiastic as I about the organization of books, but if you're trying to fit a great many things in a small space, it's one of the basic principles that they will be either organized or useless. If they're going to be freaking impossible to get at, then we might as well pull out our favorites for ourselves, sell the icky ones, and stuff the rest in the attic. It would probably have been *easier* to get at in the attic, anyway.
Aaaargh!!!!
Also, it's freaking hot, I'm still sick (but in a far more annoying way, because before I could just curl up and be miserable and drip and whine, but now I feel fine but sound like General Grievous after smoking an entire pack of cheap cigarettes, so of course *now* Mom believes I'm really sick and keeps trying to give me drugs), my room is a mess because it's been too hot to go up and unpack properly, and my laptop's power cord is about to fray through and the casing is cracked all along the back and I'm afraid I'll lose half my pictures before I get a chance to do anything with them.

p.s. stellar_dust: there are boxes of books all over your bedroom floor. Just so you aren't shocked when you go up. I figured since you're the one who shoved 'em under there, you're the one best qualified to put 'em back.
