Holiday icon: The Commander is giving up smoking for the New Year. :D

(You know that Alphalon totally uses some version of the Christian calendar. What else could they possibly use?)

In celebration of the holiday, here's Belle and Sebastian singing O Come O Come Emmanuel.

And also, the best dollmaker *ever*. What else has "bottled hate" as an option?

And Drop Dead Gorgeous updated ! \o/ Just when I was getting depressed because half my WIP folder is now finished! And it has podfic! And I have belatedly realized that the only Harry/Draco fic I actually like these days is the ones where they're basically Mulder and Scully. :D

Anyway, now that NaNo has gone down in flames, I'm currently panicking over Yuletide instead. Anyone want to help me figure out what qualifies as "angst"?

angst is ... angst! Every Mulder fic ever?

Were there any incredibly awesome and/or relevant Noland's Ferry pics in your camera?

Oh! Didn't you snarf those yet? I'll put 'em up tomorrow. (Nothing vitally amazing, but some with you against the landscape that came out good.)

So is it only angst if it wallows? Is angst all about the internal pain and never about the outer situation? (Like: MC gets kidnapped and tortured, is finally rescued and finds girlfriend is dating boss, dog is dead and apartment has burned down, but: gets plenty of shoulders to cry on from friends, talks it out, takes advantage of family and employer support network, and makes appointment with therapist and gets on mood stabilizers and starts healthy recovery process. Does that count as angst? Or does character have to spend weeks being mopy and tortured and alone instead?)

.. it would count as angst if there's LOTS of mental anguish and wallowing in the first half! Or if the therapy is extremely difficult and he gets PTSD! He can definitely get better, though, as long as he spends plenty of time being pretty and tortured first. (Like, State of Grace is going to get SUPER angsty before long, but then it will get better!) Angst is all about the internal pain, but you can trigger it by an outer situation, like Scully gets kidnapped again and so Mulder wallows in guilt (again).

Anyway, there has to be wallowing at some point.

Um. Helpful at all?

... but you write good, so your person will probably love it even if the wallowing is minimal. :D

and also, no, I did not have time to snarf pictures in the approximately-20-hours after they were taken! d:

Damn. Just PTSD without the wallowing doesn't count? I don't write wallowing good.

(also, characters in this canon don't wallow. They tend to be sensible, cheerful, and resilient. Unless they're evil.)

Is this that fandom that I don't know anything about?

Yes. Still haven't found anyone else who does, either, except the recipient.

(are you sure you never did?)
