And Now For Something Completely Different

Today was one of those horrible days when it's so effing cold in the morning that you pile on three layers, and by ten o'clock you want shirtsleeves. And everything's too bright.

I went barehand with the bees today, and to everyone's astonishment did not get stung! I was paranoid they'd crawl up my sleeves though. We seem to be working two hives now-- the really sad one which has almost no honey, and the one next to it which is extremely full and busy. Honey harvest is over, so we're just making sure they get proper winter stores. The poor hive is being fed sugar water. The rich hive is doing fine, although who knows what it'll be like after the weekend.

Why? Hurricane coming!
I am very excited. Planning to spend Thurday curled up in the dormer window with a blanket, a book, and a mug of cider. Assuming she comes, of course. She'll probably chicken out.

My Structural book describes what we are currently studying in that class as "sick fun". I would dispute that last part. It would help if a)the prof could actually teach, and b) he was actually teaching us what's in the book. Ah well, better than the chem TA with thick Chinese accent who had to teach us the difference between Molarity and Molality.

Speaking of chem, my chemistry prof quoted Monty Python today. Which is less frightening than quoting Göring like the last one, true. But she interpreted the stunned silence to mean, "I suppose you're all too young to get that." Um, no, sorry.

I seem to have been appointed my writing workshop's resident fanfic authority, so if I start talking about textual poaching and anthropophagi and pop mythology, that is why.

Since [livejournal.com profile] potions_master's birthday, I have eaten twenty-six Hershey's miniatures, folded all the wrappers into paper cranes, strung the cranes into a garland, and hung the garland on my door in celebration.

I feel as if I've really accomplished something important there. I accomplished something else, too, and you *know* it was important, since I've entirely forgotten what it was. Will edit if I remember. [Edit: I remembered! I changed my e-mail password! For the first time in two and a halp years! And I can actually type this one! What a thing to forget.]

The problem with her quoting Monty Python was that she didn't use the intonation or the accent. I think if she had attempted either, more people would have gotten it. I barely heard her as it was. ^___^ *deaf*

And paper cranes are the best. I made a chain of them for a friend's birthday freshman year. But I drew on computer paper; your idea sounds better.

She didn't even quite get the wording the first time. And of course, people I hang around quote Python often enough that I just think of it as part of normal speech!

The little foil squares Hershey's minis come in just cry out to be origami'd. And these are Easter leftovers in metallic pink, green, blue and yellow. Pretty!

Oh my .. my asteroids prof quoted Monty Python today ...

*cracks up at molality vs. molarity with a chinese accent*

*laments the death of all the fishes*

*wants hurricane and cider*

Fishes? Oh, the fishes.
Yes. This is why getting drunk is bad.

Sadly, the cider will be from a packet, but still.

Also: if hurricane comes, and then we get a blizzard but you do not, I will laugh.

So what was the quote?

Edit: I remembered! I changed my e-mail password! For the first time in two and a halp years! And I can actually type this one! What a thing to forget.

Could be worse: you could've forgotten what the password was. (Then again, if you forgot you hanged it in the 1st place... comment withdrawn! ^^; )

It's the title of the post.

*Scratches head in embarassment from the sheer obviousness*

Fair enough ^^;
