ellen_fremedon has started a meme, which is terribly dangerous but too tempting for me to ignore, so here:

Let's play the Hypothetical Crossover game! Name any two (or more) fandoms you know I'm familiar with*, and I will tell you how I would, hypothetically**, cross them over!

*Fandoms I'm familiar with: written on AO3 (expand full list), tagged on DW (under fandoms: , though note my DW tags are a mess atm); marked 'read' on LT: SF and YA, comics (and art), everything. (If you want to be particularly evil, you can give me two fiction fandoms + a nonfiction book and I will mash all three.)

**I thought about saying that you can't name a pair of fandoms about which you know I have already a) written, b) hypothetically discussed, or c) declared I am not writing, but nah. Just, if you give me one of those, you deserve what you get in return!

I honestly think Ranma could have been enormously simplified by troll romance.

...although to be honest Ranma's love life is such a mess that I'm not sure even troll romance could fix it all. biichan is right, this clearly needs a shipping chart!

Oh fuck, you don't know how much I want this crossover RIGHT NOW. Even if it's just the Ranma kids playing SBURB.

(Fuck. Now I'm kind of sad I didn't think to app any Ranma kids to jarjammed.)

I have to admit my first thought was Ryoga trying to navigate through a live action sidescroller/platformer game. :P What would their hero roles be?

I'm still trying to work that out, sadly. Ryouga is either going to be the Hero of Time or Space and I'm leaning toward Space right now. Nabiki's a Thief, I think. Maybe Thief of Mind? Or Thief of Time but I'm not sure if she's capable of sacrificing up a pile of dead Nabikies. Kasumi's probably the Seer, possibly Seer of Heart?

Ranma will probably be Hero of Life because he did bring Akane back to life.

...Ryouga as Hero of Space is amazing and terrifying, though it doesn't allow as much scope for his angst powers.

EXCELLENT. This simplifies things enormously! I hereby assign brownbetty and biichan to work on the versions where the Ranma kids are put into Homestuck canon, and then I don't have to decide between doing those, and doing the one where, in the course of the trolls' game session, somebody discovers a quest area that requires having to very carefully jump between various magic springs, while balancing on tall poles.

...it would have to be Eridan, wouldn't it? Eridan has that kind of luck. He falls in the Spring of Drowned Troll Girl, and now, every time he touches cold water, he transforms into a girl troll. Luckily he never liked swimming much anyway!

(This is less traumatic than it would be for humans, but on the other hand, it's Eridan, everything is traumatic for Eridan. He emotes about it for awhile and then decides to try putting on a very short skirt and hitting on Kanaya, and see if it works this time. And Feferi too, because why not?)

He also decides it would be fun to lure all the rest of them to that game stage, and of course most of them end up falling into their own springs.

I haven't decided who falls into which one, except Nepeta and the Spring of Drowned Cat obviously, but I'm pretty sure there's one that changes your blood color, and that one leads to a lot of shenanigans happening.

Also there's a Spring of Drowned Tentacle Monster. Fef probably falls into that one. But that's okay because she and Sollux have a lot of fun that way!
