Phonogram was mostly great (apart from, as you mention, all the characters are terrible and unsympathetic) up to the point it got Damon Albarn bafflingly wrong. For that matter there were a whole bunch of missed/elided opportunities: the Gallaghers, the really apposite joke about the Libertines fan without stopping to consider what admitting the cyclical nature of the thing means for the magic system... OK, possibly I have thought too much about this off and on, over the years. XD

I knew of Kieron Gillen from this comic, and (in a very vague way) as a friend of friends from online music writing blogospheres. And now dude is SUDDENLY EVERYWHERE.
